Fish gratin

A yummy gratin that both kids and adults love. You can use any fish you like for this dish. If you want you can make one big gratin instead of portion sized dishes.

Ingredients 4 servings

Mashed potatoes
800 g (28.22 oz) potatoes
50 g (1.76 oz) butter
200 ml (6.76 fl oz) heavy cream
Salt to taste

800 g (28.22 oz) cod
1 kg (2.2 pound) mashed potatoes
3 g (0.11 oz) fresh dill
400 ml (13.53 fl oz) milk
50 g (1.76 oz) butter
25 g (0.88 oz) wheat flour
Salt to taste

instructions

Mashed potatoes
Boil the potatoes until they are cooked through.
Drain the potatoes and let them steam off.
Add the cream, butter and some salt.
Mash the potatoes until they are smooth.
Transfer the mashed potatoes to a piping bag with a star tip.

Fish gratin
Preheat an oven to 175° C (347 degrees Fahrenheit).
Cut the cod into a round, thick disc. Place it in portion sized pie dishes.
Pipe the mashed potatoes around the fish.
Chop the dill very fine.
Melt the butter in a pot over medium heat and add the wheat flour. Stir for a few minutes.
Add the milk and dill to the pot and whisk.
Whisk over medium heat until the sauce comes to a boil. Boil the sauce for 2 minutes.
Salt to taste.
Pour the sauce over the fish.
Bake the fish gratins for 20 minutes.

Assembly
Serve the fish gratins in their pie dishes.
